Williamsburg Environmental Group, Inc. (WEG) teamed with Ault Clark & Associates and Curtis Strange to design the Brickshire Golf Course in New Kent County, Virginia. WEG’s scope of work included the preparation of an environmental resource inventory, which was used as a planning and design tool for the protection of the site ecology. WEG prepared construction documents that address erosion and sediment control, drainage, lake design, and protection of sensitive environmental areas of the golf course. WEG also prepared plans for the site design of the clubhouse and maintenance facility.

WEG water resource engineers conducted a water availability study that concluded that a water supply would be needed to supplement on-site runoff capture and storage. Treated waste-water from the residential development was found to be a feasible supply and WEG obtained a state permit for its use. This was only the third such permit issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. WEG engineers, scientists, and regulatory specialists also performed wetland fieldwork and obtained all required state, federal, and local permits for the project.
