Description

 

Williamsburg Environmental Group, Inc. (WEG) provides full-service arboriculture and forestry consulting services with the support of our staff foresters, certified arborists, and ecologists. WEG’s staff of International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certified professionals has over 30 years of combined experience.  This level of expertise allows us to tackle projects of all sizes in support of a wide variety of arboriculture and forestry activities.  WEG’s forestry personnel have worked for state and local regulatory agencies, as well as in the private sector.  WEG has conducted large acreage (1,000+ acres) specimen tree surveys and designed as well as provided oversight on the planting of numerous multi-acre reforestation/aforestation projects.  This range of experience provides us with a thorough knowledge of the level of interaction, inspection, planning, and reporting that agencies require in order to successfully obtain permits and approvals.

Timber Cruising, Forest Stand Evaluations, and Timber Harvest Coordination

WEG provides comprehensive reports on forest composition and value, timber stand delineations and specimen tree surveys for land planning, monetary return on property investment, and funding for future projects.  WEG understands the unique nature of timber harvest.  WEG can help market timber, coordinate the timber sale, administer timber contracts, and provide oversight during harvest.

Land Management Implementation / Forest Restoration Planning

WEG provides forest road layout, herbicide application, and assists in the construction. WEG has Certified Pesticide Applicators to plan and implement herbicide applications to release forest planting or eradicate invasive species. WEG can also develop and design reforestation plans, planting plans for forest buffer encroachment impacts, cost share and tax credit management, threatened species restoration projects, and wildlife habitat management plans. WEG also provides assistance in prescribed burning and boundary line marking.

Specimen and Heritage Tree Surveys / Dead, Dying, Diseased Tree Surveys

WEG provides tree preservation plans, historical natural resources preservation, and historical or large tree inventory program registration.  WEG can also assist with the removal of trees from resource protection areas, dedicated green space, and conservation easements.  WEG provides turn-key approach providing a full report ready for submittal to agencies.
