Landscape and Irrigation Design |
WEG's staff of certified landscape architects, environmental planners, certified arborists, and professional engineers provides a team-approach focusing on the specific environmental, functional, and user-related issues associated with each individual design project. WEG's landscape architects prepare an Environmental Resource Inventory showing the cultural and natural resources that are associated with the feasibility stage of landscape development or restoration. Components of environmental resource inventory plans typically include waters of the U.S., Chesapeake Bay Preservation Areas, soils, vegetation, existing site improvements, threatened and endangered species, historical resources, steep slopes, and watersheds. |
Golf Course Planning |
WEG's landscape architects work with golf course architects and other professionals in the development of golf courses. Information gathered in the preliminary planning of a golf course is used to minimize impacts to natural resources and to create a comprehensive landscape master plan, integrated pest management plan, and clubhouse and maintenance facility design. |
Landscape Maintenance |
WEG is experienced in developing detailed maintenance plans required for landscape contractor use, including mowing operations, soil testing, aeration, weed abatement, mulching, tree and shrub pruning, tree staking, and irrigation. Our in-depth maintenance specifications incorporate checklists for completion of maintenance tasks as well as cost opinions for required maintenance work. |
Low Impact Development (LID) |
WEG is a recognized expert regarding the implementation of sustainable design and LID and Environmental Site Design (ESD) techniques. Our personnel have assisted clients in developing sustainable site designs and stormwater management approaches which minimize the generation of runoff and provide full-spectrum hydrologic control and treatment. Our experience includes master planning, conceptual design, development of site-specific stormwater management guidelines for targeted resource protection, and detailed design of an array of stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) and Integrated Management Practices (IMPs) for stormwater runoff management. |
Wetland Mitigation |
WEG is dedicated to the creation of environmentally and economically feasible wetland mitigation, wetland restoration, and stream restoration projects. WEG has utilized multi-disciplinary project teams of landscape architects, ecologists, and water resource engineers on hundreds of wetland mitigation projects.
