Williamsburg Environmental Group, Inc. (WEG) was an integral member of the project design team that focused on the planning of the Warhill Tract. The information gathered during this project was utilized by the James City County Division of Parks and Recreation to successfully plan and construct Phases I and II of Warhill Park, currently named James City County District Park Sports Complex. WEG’s scope of services for this project included the completion of the environmental resource inventory, wetland delineation, and threatened and endangered species survey, coordination of the archaeological investigations, completion of the water supply analysis, as well as conducting the stormwater management planning for the parcel. In addition, WEG developed the regulatory permit strategy and provided permit coordination with the state and federal regulatory and advisory agencies.

WEG is also currently a member of the project design team for the 747 acre James City County District Park, located along Colby Swamp between Centerville Road and Jolly Pond Road. WEG has been responsible for the completion of the detailed wetland delineation and subsequent submittal to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for jurisdiction location confirmation, environmental resource inventory, completion of a small whorled pogonia survey, regulatory permit strategy and support, irrigation water supply evaluation, analysis and development of alternatives, conceptual and final mitigation design, and detailed stormwater management pond design. In addition, WEG completed the design and obtained permits for the proposed well and septic system associated with the proposed restroom building to be constructed in Phase I.

As a part of this project WEG has completed a golf course feasibility study on the Hotwater-Cole Tract which is associated with District Park.
