The College of William & Mary’s Plumeri Park baseball complex was designed to meet all local and state regulatory guidelines, as well as parameters set forth by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for Division I baseball facilities. The stadium features 1,100 seats complete with handicap access, a press box, state-of-the-art sound system, luxury box, locker rooms, concession area, and an all-natural playing surface.

As part of the consulting team, Williamsburg Environmental Group, Inc. (WEG) had the opportunity to provide specialized athletic field planning, civil engineering, and agronomic services for the project. WEG played a integral part in the layout and design of the playing surface which included site plan preparation; grading, drainage and stormwater management design; field layout; irrigation coordination; turfgrass and infield mix selection; construction administration; turfgrass grow-in supervision; and soccer field planning and design.

 The entire project took approximately a year and a half to complete from concept to construction completion.

WEG also completed the final design and construction bid documents for the proposed soccer field – Albert/Daly Field – Phase I. WEG’s scope of work included grading, drainage and stormwater management design, irrigation coordination, agronomy plan preparation, erosion and sediment control design, bidding assistance and construction coordination.
