APM Marine Terminal
New Town Development
Landstown to West LandingTransmission Line
This project involves the creation of a new 500-acre marine terminal along the Elizabeth River in Hampton Roads, Virginia. This facility is to be located in the heart of Virginia ’s economic and industrial port of Norfolk , which is also home of the Atlantic Fleet of the U.S. Navy. The project involves overall environmental assessment and permitting support for potential impacts to over 160 acres of jurisdictional resources. As one of Virginia 's most contaminated river systems, work in the Elizabeth River watershed requires a balanced approach to not only minimize direct impacts but also to ensure collateral impacts are both anticipated and managed.

WEG provided environmental services necessary to obtain regulatory approval of this project, including: wetlands delineation (tidal and nontidal) with Corps confirmation; habitat assessments; Resource Protection Area determinations in compliance with the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act; sediment analysis and testing; wetland mitigation feasibility; endangered species determinations; historic resource assessments; and overall regulatory coordination.
